Our Peñalosa model get its namesake from two brothers – Gil and Enrique Peñalosa.  Enrique is currently serving his 2nd term as the Mayor of Bogota, Columbia.  Although he did not invent the Ciclovia – a day where pedestrians and bicyclists take back the streets from cars, he has done more to champion this day and spread its message around the world.  He also has raised Bogota to the world stage as an example to cities everywhere of how to support bicycling communities.  His brother Gil travels the world to speak out about designing cities everywhere to better support all types of people rather than only those who drive cars and started the organization 880 in support of this vision.  Like the brothers our versatile folding bike makes you want to get out and bike just about anywhere – AND makes your need for a car a thing of the past!*
